155 pound Squat Clean and Jerk, 30 reps
*modify by Power clean, front squat, jerk and lesser weigth
The barbell goes from ground to overhead, passing through a front squat in which the crease of the hip passes below the height of the kneecap. The finish position is with the arms, hips and knees fully extended, arms overhead, with at least a portion of the ear visible in front of the arm. Dropping the barbell is acceptable
This past saturday a few of us helped Matt Wilson, a member for the last year, pack up his UHAUL truck. What a great athlete that we will miss here at the box but look forward to wod'ing again soon in the future. We moved furniture, fridges, washer and dryers, a metal barn, etc.
Maybe you might ask yourself when you would really use these lifts that we do in real life. Well, try moving someone and then get back to me. In fact we used less endurance training and way more lifting components. Lifting heavy dressers (deadlift), stacking heavy boxes (clean and jerk), holding metal panels over head and transporting them to a flatbed truck ( Push press and overhead walk). Needless to say we were very prepared to help in the move as all of these movements were not foreign to us.
Where have you seen yourself perform lifts from the box in real life situations?
